Area Attractions

While visiting the Carpenter Inn, we encourage you to explore the many area attractions in Meigs and Athens county.   Only a short distance from the Inn you will find three state parks, a state forest, and a national forest.  Other local outdoor activities include a 17 mile bike path that tours Ohio University’s campus and continues along the Hocking river to Nelsonville, Ohio.  There are several lakes nearby that provide swimming and fishing.  The area also offers many cultural activities year round, including several art and historical museums, music and arts festivals, and the many diverse events offered by Ohio University.
